So…I’m already 25 and a week and a half. Where does the time go?? ๐ Not to mention my one-year anniversary with Cody coming up. Really? REALLY? I still feel like a kid. I can’t believe I already had a wedding.
Life has been crazy. Busy. But good. Work has been a little nuts, but I prefer it that way (although you wouldn’t tellย by my complaining…gotta work on my attitude). I’ve been able to get out to some committee meetings and to spend some real time with other people in the industry so that’s be nice. My marketing group is starting up a mentoring program that I think I will really appreciate as someone very new not only to marketing but to the construction industry. Because who knows how long I’ll be here!
I have exchanged a couple emails with my friend Brittany, who is spending the next several months in Africa. We talked about how it’s crazy we are living life right now. LIFE doesn’t just happen when you finish college, get your job, get married, make that big move you’ve always dreamed of, take that huge trip you’ve been planning, etc. But every day, we make choices to interact with people, participate, be a part of things that are happening around us. And if we keep waiting until we’re not tired (ME), until we have more time, until we have more energy to give to people, until we feel more rested and more ready…we’ll totally miss it entirely.
So my advice is keep the coffee pot on and keep moving around and playing and jumping in. It’s way more fun anyways. And in honor of this tidbit of freshness I gathered from my friend Brittany, here’s a list of things I want to do at some point in my life that I can take steps towards right now…even if it’s just in my heart and in my head:
- Get back into playing the piano regularly.
- Run a marathon (I’ve been wanting to do this forever).
- Write a book.
- Learn photography and maybe even do a little bit on the side as a job.
- Go on a mission trip overseas either with Cody or with our family once we have kids.
- Get certified to be a teacher.
- Get back into horse-back riding (Lindsay, I’m kind of counting on you for this one…)ย ๐
- Visit Italy, Australia, and the northern west coast of the U.S. (Washington, maybe)
- Have kids.
- Adopt kids.
- Hike a mountain.
There’s probably more. But that’s good for now.
A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. -Jesus (John 10)
Well we have a couple things in common:
We’re both new to marketing.
We’ll both be a quarter-century old in about a month.
If you’d like to consider visiting the Pacific Northwest together, I’d consider that as well. I’m probably going sooner rather than later. By train, with my bike.
I’d let you borrow my teaching certification if I could. I’m not using it.
yo friend, i found a typo on your blog…it seems to me that you said washington, maybe…hello, oregon is better! ๐
much love!
I ADORE this new layout! And I adore YOU!
